Address: Rosmarijnsteeg 9, Amsterdam
The original. Kadinsky has been located in this alleyway between Spui and Rokin – named after the artist Kandinsky – since 1990. It’s a compact venue with an intimate ground floor and additional seating upstairs, good ventilation and a soundtrack that blends jazz, R&B and hip-hop. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate, and the staff take their time with you, whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been coming here for years. Just round the corner you’ll find the book stalls on Spui, the Negen Straatjes and plenty of cafés for afterwards. Open daily, just like the other Kadinsky shops.
